Shivinder, a family man and an aspiring song writer, is estranged by his wife due to his inability to perform either roles well and chooses to become his in-laws' driver to be able to stay close to his wife and daughter.

Inder meets Bilkis and develops an instant liking for her and sets out to woo her, not realizing that Bilkis is from Pakistan. His grandmother's hatred of Pakistan forces him to lie to his family that she is not from Pakistan.
